What'd you eat for lunch?

This video is from last week, when Jenn and Leia stopped by to have lunch with Thomas.  They set him up on the table as they ate, and they all got some big laughs.

As some of you may know, I personally am not a "big" laugher and so when I heard the laughter, I grabbed the camera and took some footage.

Baptism Sunday

SUNDAY-SUNDAY-SUNDAY

Thomas was Baptised this past Sunday April 26th.  He now has a halo like his Mom & D- like his Mom.

We had such a spectacular day with Family and Friends, and every minute was just great.  Special thanks to God Parents Steve and Leia for doing an amazing job up on the alter as well as hosting a great lunch after the ceremony.

Here are some Baptism pictures (about 5 from our camera and the rest from Melynda's).  Enjoy!

And, here is a baptism video.  The original footage was about 30-40 minutes, but I cut it down to about 8.  Just a warning for those of you who might only want to watch the first 1 minute, this is a long one!

Also- special thanks to Uncle Tony for video taping throughout the day.

How Do You Sleep?

This past Tuesday (4-21-09), Jenn and I celebrated our 2nd Wedding Anniversary.  We had an fun relaxing day, which started off with an extra hour of sleep and a very casual morning (I had PJ's on until noon).

While we were slowly waking up, we fed Thomas and then had him go back to sleep for a little while.  We noticed that he was doing something very strange as he fell asleep, he kept jumping and reacting to something?

I watched him do this maybe 4-5 times before I grabbed the camera and he would sleep for a minute in between jumps, so here is some footage of his odd sleeping routine.

Typical Morning

So the other morning (Monday), it occurred to me that a lot of people aren't able to spend the amount of time with Thomas that I spend with him.  In this video, I was able to capture some of the joys and challenges being a stay-at-home dad will face.

As you have noticed I have edited the video so that you don't need to spend 4 hours actually feeling what it's like to be Don & Thomas.  Hope you liked it!

No Rock, Just Roll

Wednesday night, Jenn, Thomas and I were hanging out in Thomas' room enjoying some tummy- time (for those who don't know, you lay a baby on there belly, and the baby's muscles improve, or something).  Jenn was laughing because Thomas was holding up his head and making faces and sounds and being super cute, so Jenn says, "Don, go get the camera and lets take some video of him, this is funny."

Don replies, "In a minute, this is funny."
"Just get the camera right now." Jenn replies.
"Alright, I'm going." Don says as he begins to leave the room.

As Don walks out of the room (and his back is to Jenn and Thomas), he hears, "Don, he just rolled over!" from Jenn.

So, I turn my back for 2 seconds and totally miss Thomas' first roll, but Jenn reminded me that she missed his first laugh, and pretty much everyone reading this has missed the live version of everything (especially the birth), so... I got the camera, and I came back to see if Thomas would do an encore performance of his roll from belly to back.

This is what he did do.

You Tube version HERE !
And remember he's only 3 months old, I heard that most babies don't roll over until there 15 months... or something like that... I don't remember who told me... or maybe I'm making up pretend facts... but ya know... I'm pretty impressed with this little guy... he's my favorite!

Easter 2009

We have had a wonderful weekend with Great-Grandparents Don & Dorothy. We arrived Thursday night and flew out Sunday afternoon. Here are some pictures from our trip as well as some videos from Colorado!

I hope there weren't too many pictures, but we had a really fun trip and so every 5 minutes we were taking more pictures.  Also as you can tell from the one video, Thomas laughing is our new favorite past-time so we are doing that pretty much all the time now.

Laugh Riot

Have I got a treat for you folks today!

This afternoon, Uncle Tony will pick up Jenn, Thomas and I and drop us off at the airport.
Thomas will have his second airplane trip to go visit my Grandparents (Thomas' Great-Grandparents) in beautiful (and possibly cold) Colorado!

As most of you Christian readers are aware, this Sunday is Easter Sunday, and so we look forward to a very special weekend with Great Grampa Don and Great Gramma Dorothy (yes, that's how Don spells Grampa & Gramma, get used to it).

This video below is a special Easter treat, because over the last few weeks we've been hearing rumors about Thomas laughing (from Gramma Katie, and a lot of big smiles), and so today, I was able to catch the elusive laugh on video.

You Tube Version Here!

If you just watched that video and you don't have a smile on your face then you better report a missing sense of humor, because that video is just great.  I realize it sounds as though I'm ringing my own bell or singing my own praises, but that video was a ton of fun to shoot, and I'm glad I'm able to share it with you all!

Why So Tired?

Is it just me, or does every weekend seem to wear me out!
Friday night was probably the most relaxed, because we stayed home and relaxed.
Saturday we woke up nice and early and headed over to church for a baptism course.  It seems that before you have your child baptised you must listen to church information for 3 hours and have a bunch of things explained to you, so it was kind of a drag, but hey, it's over now!
After class we drove east to help celebrate Gabriel's 3rd birthday.  It was a cool party, they had food and drinks, and ... a moon bounce!  It was amazing, we had some fun times with Gabriel and the rest of the gang.
Saturday night was great because Jenn and I were able to step out for a little date to see a movie, so big thanks to Gramma Katie for watching Thomas!
Sunday was good, we went to church (kinda of crazy [long story]), and had breakfast and relaxed at home.
We are super excited about next Sunday (Easter) because we will be in Colorado visiting Thomas great-grandparents (Don & Dorothy), so we can not wait!
Enjoy the video, it's when we got home Saturday, and Jenn and I were getting ready for bed, and Thomas as you can see was out like a light!

First Word

This morning has been incredible.  Thomas, Jenn and I got in the car and drove Jenn to work, and Thomas was quiet and asleep the whole time.  Then as soon as Jenn shuts her door, I hear Thomas make a noise (kind of an annoyed noise, like, who just woke me).
As we start driving home, I talk to him and say, it's alright, we're almost home, just relax.  And Thomas is making cooing sounds and noises back to me.

Once we walk into the house, I tell Thomas that Daddy loves him, and then he makes a noise that is pretty much his first word.  It was amazing.  So I grabbed the camera, because I know Jenn and everyone would want to see and hear it, so check out this video.

I hope you enjoyed Thomas' first word, and I hope there are many more to come.  Also I thought that this was Guinness record breaking stuff, but turns out it's not that rare.  Oh well!
